Fast food lines are drive-thru philosophy: cheap, quick and satisfying if you don't think too hard. Use them in the queue, over a shared order, or on an app where naming a specific chain reliably gets a reply — people have opinions about fries.
The menu puns are interchangeable, but the ones naming a real item land harder. Nobody's heart was ever won by "burger"; "McFlurry" has a chance.
Fast food lines are deliberately unserious, and that is their power: nobody feels ambushed by a McNugget joke. They suit the apps especially — a specific, silly food opener out-performs "hey" by a distance and gives an easy reply hook. In person, the queue is the venue; the counter staff mid-rush is not the audience.
When the moment calls for slightly higher cuisine, the broader food collection covers pizza, coffee and everything else edible — same joke engine, different menu.
